When You Were Young You Were The King of Carrot Flowers

We met at a bookstore last night - but it seems ages ago and forever away. You were a semi-demigoddess of beauty beyond measure, borne from the fiery bosom of everything glistening and pure – and I was a quivering mass of Jello pudding, ever so delicious, yet always out of reach on the top shelf… of life.

You and I walked through the aisles – you leaving a trail of stunned onlookers, dazzled by your majesty and fallen under the spell of your witchy wiles… me, leaving a trail of greasy pudding-ooze, which slowly congealed into a tasty skin.

We talked about many things… your desire to travel back in time and join the Crusades… my desire to, one day, hunt down and destroy the Jedi.

You tasted my pomegranate juice – but never offered me a sip of your tea. We went back to my lair, where you gorged on Dutch candy and yelled at me for owning jeans. We had a magical kiss underneath the canopy of the heavens and you tried to tickle me with your gigantic hands, but to no avail. When you left, you forgot to take your new movies with you – and I had to use the electric garage door opener to let you out.

But you had to kiss me one more time before you left, opening your door a last time, before spinning off in the darkness.

I stood cold and amazed. But you never came back.

I will never forget.

I hope you read this… if you do, email me and tell me the secret to winning your heart. And I will do it.
